Lee Payne

Director of Client Services

Born and raised in Alabama, Lee spent his early years as a Boy Scout and rock climber. He received his BA degree in communications from the University of Colorado, where he also acquired firsthand marketing experience, serving as Red Bull North America’s student brand manager for the 30,000 students on campus in Boulder—not an easy feat. His passion for climbing, along with his excellent marketing communications skills led him to create one of the web’s best sites for the professional climbing community back in 1999—a site that is still in use today. When he wasn’t online or on a rock face, he was writing for national climbing publications.

Since joining rabble+rouser, Lee has played a pivotal role serving as the interface between the company’s clients and its technical and design teams. He’s also contributed heavily in the successful organic growth of both the internal team and overall business of our organization. His experience working with both CMOs and CTOs gives him a unique ability to help clients develop effective marketing programs that leverage technology for maximum impact. Plus, his business savvy and approachability keep the projects, and thus the creativity, coming.

Lee is especially proud of his work on Denver’s Road Home, which netted a Reader’s Digest “Best of America” award and the Omaha Steaks’ Steak Time apps which have been met with rave reviews and been featured on the Apple App Store homepage. Additionally, his involvement in LiveWell Colorado’s obesity awareness campaign led to great success on both their corporate and community websites.
