Mow Down Pollution with a Green Tech SolutionPosted by lee in Caring

Just recently we started working with the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) to update their Web world. Their online environment consists of a number of Web sites that contain a wealth of information about air pollution and what is being done in the area to raise awareness and improve air quality. Our goal: to help raise awareness and improve air quality in the metro area.

At ground level, ozone pollution is harmful to all of us, especially the young and elderly. Ozone can also trigger attacks in individuals with pre-existing health conditions, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

This month, the RAQC is facilitating a simple way to help reduce the emissions from gas-powered lawn mowers, which contribute to the formation of ground-level ozone on hot, still days. Earth-friendly lawn equipment can help reduce ozone pollution, which is why the RAQC wants your mower to be as green as your lawn.

RAQC has partnered with Neuton Lawn Mower Company to host three “Mow Down Pollution” lawn equipment exchanges across the Denver metro area on May 2. Residents can begin reserving their earth-friendly mowers today by calling the dedicated toll free number at 1-800-457-8651.

Mow Down Pollution will take place throughout the day in Denver, Commerce City, and Longmont on May 2. In addition to exchanging mowers, citizens who attend the Denver and Longmont events will find out how to get discounted earth-friendly products and services and discover low environmental impact lawn-care practices.
