about this work

how

by

... first understanding how the community feels about the issue, and then creating a grassroots program to motivate them to be part of the solution.

and so

… we outfitted retired parking meters with simple, takeaway messages about the realities of homelessness and what concerned citizens could do to help. As a result, the city raised funds to help the homeless, reduced panhandling by 94 percent, succeeded in generating positive word-of-mouth on an important initiative, and gained national recognition for its efforts to end homelessness. Reader’s Digest called it “The Best of America–2008.” We also developed a website to support the efforts of Denver’s Road Home and the entire community.
