MS Society Web Site Integration ProjectPosted by lee in New Work

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society recently asked us for help in implementing employment disclosure advice on their Web site. The content had been developed and exhibited by the New York Chapter of the NMSS, but stood to garner more attention by relocating it to the national site. The trick was figuring out how the content could get the most mileage from our new design and layout.

We set about to reorganize the NMSS’s employment disclosure advice into a more usable and engaging tool. Because the purpose of this tool is used to convey the NMSS’s advice to an audience of visitors that may have MS, we took special consideration of potential cognitive issues that could impact a user’s ability to interact with the site.

In order to confirm that the tool would be utilized as planned, we coordinated with the NMSS to conduct user testing on a staging site. We then analyzed the paths users chose through the information. As it turned out, the variety of navigational methods we built into the site were all very usable to users with and without MS. Everyone reported finding an easy way to get to the information they desired, and a level of comfort getting back and forth inside of the tool.

Check out the site for yourself, and explore the National MS Society’s advice by your chosen path: Employment Disclosure Tool
