It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…Posted by christina in rabble+rouser

When I asked my friend Brooke at Weber what she thought we should call our new Web site—which is neither a traditional Web site nor a standard blog, but a blend of the two—she said, “Maybe you could call it a slog...or a blite.... Or maybe not.”

That strategy worked for Brangelina and TomKat, but not so much here.

When we started out, the original plan was to update the design of our blog. Easy enough. But as we got into it, we began to see a vision for a whole new type of site. A living, breathing site that is part blog, part online portfolio, and part brand-building medium. A site where we could demonstrate our work, have a voice, start a conversation, and engage with people. Along the way, it became what we are passionate about—a true branded content vehicle. And since it is built using the latest CMS technologies, it can all be kept fresh by the left-brain thinkers in marketing and account management. That means we won’t have to hijack our Web talent to keep our site fresh, so they’ll be free to work on more important things, like doing brilliant work for our clients.

We see this as the future of the Web. A new sort of living thing on the Web still that is yet to be named. Where do you see this going?
